Jeff Ubersax
Jeff leads efforts to advance the GRAIL’s multi-cancer early detection platform through innovative research and cutting-edge development. Prior to joining GRAIL, he served as Chief Science and Technology Officer at Demetrix, spearheading R&D programs, establishing a robust research pipeline, and fostering interdisciplinary collaborations across computational, robotics, and experimental teams. Earlier in his career, Jeff was Vice President of R&D at Amyris, overseeing biology, high-throughput DNA engineering, and sequencing teams while contributing to the company’s Research Leadership Team. Jeff earned his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from the University of California, San Francisco, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University in the Department of Chemical and Systems Biology as a Helen Hay Whitney Foundation Fellow. He received his B.S. in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
