Rodger Currie
Before GRAIL, Currie held leadership roles at the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA). As SVP of Federal Affairs, he led the industry’s efforts to develop and pass the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act, which created the Medicare Part D drug benefit. Later, as EVP of Advocacy, he oversaw global government affairs and alliances. At Amgen, he directed biotech’s efforts to pass the Biologics Price Competition and Innovation Act, establishing a pathway for FDA approval of biosimilars while promoting innovation for novel biologics. At the American Psychiatric Association, he led efforts to pass the Helping Families in Mental Health Crisis Act. As Majority Health Counsel to the House Energy & Commerce Committee, Currie was a key architect of the FDA Modernization Act, the Prescription Drug User Fee Act, and Medicare, Medicaid, and CHIP provisions of the Balanced Budget Act. He earned BA and JD degrees from Georgetown University.
