Oliver Venn, PhD

Dr. Oliver Venn is Vice President of Research at GRAIL, where he leads the Artificial Intelligence, Computational Biology, and Machine Learning teams.Dr. Venn brings over 17 years of experience spanning academia and industry in biotechnology, computational science, and genomics. He joined GRAIL in 2016 following the acquisition of Lighthouse Cancer Diagnostics, a cell-free DNA cancer screening company he co-founded in 2014.Dr. Venn holds a D.Phil. in Statistics and Genomic Medicine from the University of Oxford, where he was a Clarendon Scholar and Wellcome Trust Scholar, and dual S.B. degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Mathematics and Chemical-Biological Engineering. He is also a graduate of the Engineering Leadership Professional Program at the University of California, Berkeley.Dr. Venn is an inventor on over 420 patents and patent applications.
